City of Trees

City of Trees is a movement initiated by The Oglesby Charitable Trust and Community Forest Trust, to reinvigorate Greater Manchester’s landscape by planting a tree for every man woman and child in the region as well as restoring underused and unloved woodland. Creative Concern has supported the City of Trees team since the onset to create a new brand, website as well as devising marketing and PR campaigns.

We worked with them to promote their woodland installation and special activities at this year’s Royal Horticultural Society's Tatton Flower Show; securing regional and trade coverage including the lead spot on BBC North West Tonight for the opening day of the show.

We also carried out media relations around the announcement of plans to transform City Forest Park. City of Trees has a plan to transform 330 hectares of green space, located on the edge of Manchester city centre to create City Forest Park.

With plans to regenerate the entire site, which is the same scale as New York’s Central Park, City Forest Park will benefit local communities as well as bringing widespread social, environmental and economic impact.

This secured wide coverage across the North West region including the Manchester Evening News, Bolton News, Westmoreland Gazette, Tower Fm, and trade titles such as Horticulture Week.
